In a rare occurrence, Lyudao Township of Pingtung County experienced a major power outage affecting 4,171 households due to a problem with the Taiwan Power Company's mainframe. One local resident, surnamed Li, humorously shared that during a family dinner featuring Emperor crabs, they had to resort to using headlamps and fans due to the lack of electricity and air conditioning. The outage lasted for an hour each time it occurred, adding an unexpected twist to their gathering. The power was eventually restored with the help of backup generators. County Magistrate Zhou Chun-mi promptly contacted the Taiwan Power Company's chairman to expedite the restoration process.
