Reported about 1 year ago
On June 8, 2024, around 5 p.m., a family of four visiting a riverbank near the Jaingziliao cliffs in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, were encircled by a bee swarm, presumably disturbing a beehive. The parents with their 6-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son were stung, prompting a rescue by the Fire Department. Despite the two injured individuals sustaining minor injuries, all four were safely assisted by the fire brigade. Following the incident, they received medical attention. Fire Chief Luo Yitian advised against swatting or alarming bees when encountering a swarm but to calmly walk away in the opposite direction of their flight path. Prompt reporting to emergency services could facilitate swift assistance during unexpected situations or emergencies.
