Chungli Train Station, once voted by netizens as the 'ugliest station,' is set to be dimmed tonight as part of the railway underground project, evoking sentimental messages and memories from passengers. Despite being one of Taiwan Railways' busiest stations, its aging infrastructure earned it the title of the 'ugliest station.' The renovation plan includes reconstructing existing Taoyuan, Neili, and Chungli stations, and constructing five new stations. The new Chungli Station is expected to open in 2033, with a temporary station opening on June 16 to accommodate passengers during construction.
