A serious car accident occurred in Dongshi, Chiayi County around 5 a.m. on June 18, involving a blue truck and a silver van colliding at an intersection. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, with four individuals injured. The driver of the truck was ejected and found without vital signs at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the police. The injured were taken to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for treatment, with one in critical condition.
