In Pingtung County's Ligang Township, a sand truck making a turn was allegedly struck at the middle by a large truck suspected of running a red light, leaving three individuals trapped. Two suffered fractured hands and legs, while one was pronounced dead even after being sent to the hospital. Pingtung County Fire Department reported to the scene of the accident at Ligang Interchange on National Highway 10, where they assisted in rescuing the victims. Investigations revealed that the collision occurred at the intersection between a 46-year-old sand truck driver and a 58-year-old large truck driver, leading to the tragic death of the latter and injuries to the passengers. The driver of the sand truck, tested negative for alcohol, and surveillance footage suggests the large truck ran a red light, leading to further investigation into the exact cause of the accident.
