In Miaoli County, a fatal accident occurred near Sanwan Junior High School in Sanwan Township late at night. A 60-year-old man surnamed Luo was resting on the roadside when he was suddenly hit from behind by a speeding sedan, causing him to be thrown and lie unconscious on the sidewalk. Despite authorities identifying the license plate of the fleeing vehicle, they have yet to locate the hit-and-run driver. Luo was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
