A 30-year-old man surnamed Lin driving alone in a minivan on the northbound lane of Wuyang Overpass on National Freeway No. 1 suddenly stopped his vehicle near the 52.6 km mark, before inexplicably falling off the overpass. Emergency services rushed Lin to the nearby Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead at around 6:24 p.m. Authorities arrived on the scene after receiving reports, with police finding Lin lying on the grass slope. Despite efforts to save him, he ultimately did not survive. The incident serves as a somber reminder to cherish life and seek help when needed, with suicide prevention hotlines listed for assistance.
