A woman in Keelung, Taiwan, was involved in a motorcycle accident while riding home with a male colleague, resulting in severe injuries that left her in a vegetative state. Her father is seeking 80 million NT dollars in compensation from the colleague. The court ruled that the colleague must pay 500,000 NT dollars, but this decision can still be appealed. The colleague claimed they had offered to drive her home because they lived nearby and she did not know how to ride a motorcycle. The court considered both parties' financial situations and awarded the compensation based on the non-property damage caused by the accident.
