Faye Chan, former lead singer of F.I.R., was acquitted by the Taipei District Court of falsely accusing her mentor and band leader Chen Jianning and executives of Huayi Brothers of forging her signature on a 'guarantee document'. The crucial reason for the ruling was that Chan had signed multiple entertainment contracts around the same time period, leading to a possible 'confusion of memory', and there was no mention of her having a contract with Huayi Brothers in dialogue records. The court concluded that without evidence of intentional false accusation, she was acquitted. The case can be appealed. The long-standing legal dispute between Chan and Chen Jianning began after F.I.R. disbanded in 2018.
