Former F.I.R band vocalist Faye (Faye Chen) accused her mentor and band leader Chen Jiannan of forging her signature to produce a 'guarantee letter', but ended up being charged with false accusations. In the Taipei District Court, the mentor and apprentice had a public fallout, but after hearing testimonies from witnesses, the panel deemed the suspicion insufficient, leading to her being acquitted today. The case is open to appeal. Despite the band disbanding in 2018, the legal battle between the mentor and apprentice ensued as Faye accused Chen Jiannan, as well as the chairman and general manager of Warner Music Taiwan, of allegedly forging her signature to produce the 'guarantee letter' when the band joined the label. Chen Jiannan countersued Faye for false accusations and defamation, but with a surprising turn of events after further investigation, it was determined that Faye was charged with false accusations while Chen Jiannan and others were not prosecuted.
