FCA Considers Ending Crypto Trading Ban for UK Retail Investors

Reported about 10 hours ago

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is proposing to lift its ban on the sale of crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) to retail investors in the UK, aiming to bolster the country's crypto industry. Currently, only professional investors have access to these products, but consultations indicate a potential change as early as September. The FCA’s executive director expressed a commitment to balancing risk and enabling consumer choice regarding high-risk investments, while maintaining a ban on crypto derivatives. This shift follows increasing pressure on the FCA and would allow UK retail investors access to regulated products.
