Neel Kashkari, well-known hawkish official of the Federal Reserve (Fed) and President of the Minneapolis Fed, stated in an interview on June 16 that if the Fed only cuts rates once this year, a rate cut in December would be a reasonable prediction. The market's decreasing expectations for rate cuts have supported the US dollar index, which reached a high of 105.65 on June 17, marking a 0.1% increase. Despite some internal dissent, including Kashkari's views, the Fed remains predominantly hawkish in its stance towards inflation and interest rates.
