Fed's Barkin Highlights US Vulnerability to Inflation Shocks

Tom Barkin, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, stated in a recent Financial Times interview that the US is currently more susceptible to inflationary shocks than in the past. He expects inflation to decline but warned that businesses are increasingly passing costs to consumers. Barkin emphasized that the economy is more vulnerable to both wage-related and other cost shocks compared to five years ago.
