Taiwan Military Sees Increase in Female Personnel to 16.9% with Higher Ranks

Reported 11 months ago

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reports an increase in female military personnel, reaching 16.9% with around 28,000 female soldiers. The Air Force has the highest female ratio exceeding 20%. Senior officers at or above colonel rank number about 160 women. Notably, the ratio of female officers and non-commissioned officers is rising while female soldiers have decreased slightly. Recruitment patterns have shifted as excess female recruits are no longer required to fill male recruitment gaps, with data showing a continual increase in female representation across the army, navy, and air force, even within higher officer ranks.
