Female Trader Loses Over 40 Million in Taishin Coin and Gold Investment Scam

Reported about 1 year ago

In Taipei, two women - a trader and a teacher - were scammed over 50 million in a fraudulent investment scheme involving Taishin coin and stocks. The suspects targeted them for their deep pockets and simplicity, persuading them to invest in fake opportunities through multiple face-to-face cash transactions and bank transfers. Even after reporting the scam and catching some perpetrators, it is unlikely the victims will recover their losses. The scam involved promises of guaranteed profits, and the perpetrators were apprehended at various locations in Taipei. The financial losses were devastating, with one victim losing over 43 million in just one month. The police emphasized that such scams typically involve smooth talk and false promises of safe investments in virtual currencies and stocks.
