Fidelity Data Breach Affects 77,000 Customers' Personal Information

Fidelity Investments has reported that a data breach in August exposed the personal details of over 77,000 customers, including Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses. The breach occurred when a third party accessed customer data through two newly created Fidelity accounts, prompting an immediate termination of access upon detection. Fidelity emphasized that customer accounts and funds were not compromised in the incident.
