Financial Authorities Crack Down on Suspected Mortgage Fraud Cases

In Taipei, to strengthen the supervision of the 'Youth Housing Loan Preferential Program' (New Qingan) and address potential loopholes, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Ruan Qinghua, convened a meeting with eight major state-owned banks. It was revealed that these banks have identified over 1,700 suspected cases of mortgage fraud. They have agreed on measures such as including a 'one loan limit' clause in the contracts, actively contacting credit information sharing centers, and taking steps to combat violations in the mortgage application process. The Finance Ministry is overseeing the implementation of improved measures and plans for further investigations into these cases.
