On June 28, 2024, in Taipei, the Financial Department called for public sector banks to quickly submit a list of violations related to the new youth housing loan program. Those found to be in violation will face penalties such as adjusting loan interest rates and reclaiming interest subsidies. The Financial Department urged public sector banks to identify violators of the program within a week, with penalties to be enforced. Measures to strengthen regulations for the new program were discussed at a meeting hosted by Vice Minister Juan Qinghua on the following steps to be taken in the coming weeks.
