Taiwan's stock market surged on June 19, 2024, with the main index rising by 452.11 points, a 1.98% increase, reaching a record high. The financial index closely followed, gaining 10 points or 0.5% to close at 2,009.57 points, surpassing the 2,000 mark for the first time in over 34 years and hitting a new high since April 16, 1990. Despite the positive momentum, analysts note that there is still a significant gap compared to the index's record high back in 1990. Financial stocks saw over 1% growth, including various sectors like banking and insurance, signaling a promising outlook, albeit the need for sustained market support for further challenges ahead.
