Despite the stock market rebounding by 100 points on June 26th, the financial sector index dropped by 1.1%. Nevertheless, institutional investors took advantage of the dip, particularly focusing on Cathay Financial Holding, which will go ex-dividend on July 1st with a current cash dividend yield of 3.36%. The financial industry has seen significant profits in the first five months of the year, with 14 financial holding companies collectively earning 52.65 billion NT dollars in May alone, double the amount from last year, reaching a record high. This positive trend is attributed to the strong performance of both domestic and foreign stock markets and the appreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar. Despite the overall market volatility, financial stocks have remained resilient, with some companies like Fubon Financial Holding and E. Sun Financial Holding attracting increased institutional buying interest.
