A fire broke out at the 'Chiba Hot Pot - Miaoli Zunjue Hotel' on Guohua Road in Miaoli City, causing thick smoke to billow out around 5 a.m. Miaoli County Fire Department dispatched personnel to extinguish the fire, but it reignited during subsequent on-site investigations and quickly spread along the ceiling decorations. By 1 p.m., the fire was gradually under control, with the cause still under investigation. Miaoli Mayor Yu Wenzhong urged residents to temporarily close doors and windows and avoid going out unnecessarily. No casualties were reported, and the scene was surrounded by thick smoke, prompting safety measures for nearby schools.
