On June 27, 2024, around 9 a.m., a fire broke out at a bento shop on Hansheng West Road in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. Two people were initially reported trapped on the second floor and were rescued by the fire department. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes, and three individuals were sent to the hospital as a precaution. The cause of the fire was attributed to negligence while cooking, awaiting further investigation by the fire department's fire investigation center. Authorities urged regular cleaning of stoves and exhaust systems to prevent grease buildup and emphasized safety measures in cooking areas to protect public safety.
