Early in the morning on June 20, 2024, a chain hot pot restaurant on Guohua Road in Miaoli City caught fire, filling the establishment with black smoke and flames. Firefighters responded and initially extinguished the fire, but it reignited while they were investigating the scene. Upon further inspection, it was found that the kitchen area was connected to the ceiling, with the pipeline in between stuffed with cotton, causing the flames to spread. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
