A three-story metal building in Changduanshu, Houpi District, Tainan City housing chickens caught fire on the top floor emitting smoke on the night of June 20th. The chickens were kept on the second floor, and while no humans were trapped and the chickens were not in immediate danger, firefighters were on site to locate the source of the fire and prevent its spread. Though there was no risk of the fire spreading, there was a significant amount of smoke at the scene, prompting caution from the firefighters who started smoke ventilation operations.
