A fire broke out on December 23, 2024 at 1:26 am at a snack shop on Gongzheng Street in Hualien City, with heavy smoke at the scene. This incident occurred just a day after a fire destroyed six storefronts along Zhongshan Road in Hualien City. Emergency personnel quickly arrived to extinguish the fire, rescuing one chef who suffered minor throat irritation but remained conscious and has been hospitalized. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
