Fire Breaks Out in Idle Warehouse of King's Ocean Kaohsiung Branch with No Casualties or Injuries

Reported 12 months ago

On July 2, 2024, at 7:45 a.m., an employee of King's Ocean reported, 'Glass fell down, I looked up and saw the fire. I quickly called 119 and used the PA system to ask them to come down quickly.' The head of the Kaohsiung City Fire Department's First Brigade, Guo Mingzhong, stated, 'During the rescue process, the strong sea breeze exacerbated the fire, but we quickly laid hoses to control the fire.' Thick black smoke billowed from the 4th floor, and a fire truck ladder was dispatched to assist in extinguishing the fire. Although reports of glass windows exploding circulated, the Fire Department clarified that the glass was damaged by the water stream used for rescue. The 1st floor of the building is an office, the 2nd and 3rd floors are factories, and the 4th floor, where flames emerged, is an idle warehouse with cardboard boxes and ammonia cylinders. It is believed that the ammonia has burned out, posing no pollution risks, and no injuries were reported at the scene. Further investigation is required to determine the cause of the fire.
