In the early hours of July 3rd, 2024, a fire broke out at the largest night market in Beitun District, Taichung City, known as 'Xinyidianli.' The flames shot up into the sky, engulfing several stalls spanning over 30 square meters, with initial investigations pointing to a short circuit in a freezer as the possible cause. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as the market was closed at the time of the incident, and the fire was brought under control within half an hour with the quick response of 42 firefighters and 14 fire engines.
