A fire broke out on Zhongshan Road in Hualien City last night, with intense flames and thick smoke affecting at least 5 shops, leading to civilians evacuating with pet dogs from the grooming shop. The fire spread to over 5 buildings, resulting in no human casualties but causing several dogs to be unable to escape. One 17-year-old dog died due to smoke inhalation, while others suffered from severe burns and smoke inhalation. Firefighters and passersby worked together to rescue the animals, providing oxygen and CPR. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Hualien Fire Department.
