Major domestic IV fluid manufacturer Yong Feng Chemical Industrial Co., Ltd., holding a 70% market share, was ordered to shut down due to serious violations, causing a shortage of normal saline supply. To address this, the Ministry of Health and Welfare initiated emergency imports, with the first batch of 100,000 IV fluid bags arriving at Taipei Port last night and the second batch of 216,000 bags expected to arrive this Saturday, continuing with subsequent deliveries. The Ministry estimated a supply shortage of IV fluids until October due to the company's violations and licensing issues, with over a million bags expected to be lacking by June and 1.5 million bags needed monthly from July onwards.
