The citizen group 'Shanhai Citizens Dismantling Action' has been advocating for the recall of Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang. The second stage of petitioning started on May 11 and is expected to end at the end of June, with the latest count revealing over 36,000 signatures, surpassing the 37,920 threshold. The group plans to reach 40,000 signatures by July 5 when they submit the petition to the Keelung City Election Commission. With support from legislators and the impact of parliamentary reform, the petition has gained momentum, raising concerns about when it will cross the threshold.
