First Case! Mainland Chinese Man Drives Speedboat to Taiwan, Collides with Ship in Tamsui River, Seeks Help from Passerby to Report Police

A 60-year-old mainland Chinese man with the surname Ruan, who was restricted from leaving China due to inappropriate comments posted on his phone, attempted to reach Taiwan for 'freedom' by driving a small speedboat from a fishing port in China to the Tamsui River in New Taipei City. He accidentally collided with a traffic boat in Tamsui but was eventually caught upon landing at a fishing port, where he sought help from a passerby to report the incident. He is now under investigation for violating immigration laws and currently in custody.
