On June 29, 2024, the first day of summer vacation, students in Jinshan, New Taipei, were stopped by police for racing with 5-6 modified motorcycles, some ridden by minors. Over the next two months, the cities of Taipei and New Taipei will launch a summer youth project focusing on inspecting various venues to crack down on illegal activities such as drugs, fraud, and gang-related behaviors. This comes after a large-scale crackdown on the first day uncovered cases including drug possession, fraud, gambling, theft, driving without a license, and apprehension of 20 wanted individuals, as well as safety advisories for outdoor activities to prevent disturbances during the summer break.
