First Edition Original Cover of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' Sold for 61.87 Million NTD

The first edition original watercolor illustration cover of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' was sold at Sotheby's for 1.9 million USD (approximately 61.87 million NTD) on June 26th. Created by Thomas Taylor in 1997, featuring the iconic image of a boy with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead and round glasses, this artwork became the most valuable Harry Potter item ever sold at an auction. The book, initially printed in only 500 copies, has now expanded into a global phenomenon with translations in 80 languages and over 500 million copies sold worldwide.
