In a first-time incident in 20 years, Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) revealed an insider leak in the Taichung Bank embezzlement case, expressing shock and pledging to enhance internal controls. The FSC inspection bureau personnel leaked a prosecutor's report to Taichung Commercial Bank, resulting in charges of dereliction of duty. FSC Chairman, Pen Keng-lung, stated the commission was profoundly shocked but committed to reinforcing internal controls and education. The case involves former chairman of Taichung Commercial Bank, Wang Kuei-feng, embezzling over 1.1 billion NT dollars, treating the bank as a personal treasure trove by renting luxury jets, top-end cars, and mansions.
