In order to encourage fishermen to report unidentified military vessels, the Navy introduced a reporting reward system. A fisherman in Penghu witnessed a submarine surfacing in the operation area, suspected to be the Chinese PLA's 'Type 094 Nuclear Submarine'. Taiwan's surrounding waters have become a hotspot for various countries' naval vessels, prompting the Navy to offer rewards for fishermen who report unidentified military ships. By providing photos and location details, fishermen can receive rewards up to 30,000 NTD, with a possibility of additional rewards for high-value military intelligence. The reward system has been in place for over 5 years, aiming to enhance maritime security with the help of fishermen's reports.
