In response to the increased presence of foreign military vessels in Taiwan's surrounding waters, the Taiwanese Navy has implemented a reward system for fishermen who spot and report unidentified military ships, offering up to 30,000 NT dollars for valuable intelligence. The Navy emphasized the importance of fishermen's help in maintaining maritime security by reporting unidentified vessels to assist in cataloging ships at sea.
