As of 2:10 pm on June 23, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain advisory for 9 counties and cities, lasting until late evening. Additionally, an immediate thunderstorm warning was issued for Taipei and New Taipei City, set to continue until 3:15 pm. The Bureau warned of localized heavy rain in areas including Keelung, Greater Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Nantou, Yilan, and Hualien mountainous regions, urging vigilance against lightning, strong gusts, landslides, rockfalls, and flash floods. Extra precautions were advised for tangential low-lying regions to prevent flooding and ensure safety amid slippery roads and reduced visibility. Stay indoors and away from exposed areas during thunderstorms to minimize risk.
