During Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers, Panthers' captain Aleksander Barkov sustained an injury after a hit to the face by Oilers' star Leon Draisaitl in the third period. Barkov did not return to the game, and coach Paul Maurice did not provide an update on his condition. Draisaitl received a minor penalty for roughing and defended the hit as not dirty, while Maurice acknowledged that the league would review the incident but declined to give his personal opinion on the matter.
