The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control reported an increase in flu-related ER visits by over 101,000 people last week, with 68 new ICU cases and 16 deaths. Among them, a 3-year-old girl from the south, who had no underlying diseases and had been vaccinated, passed away after developing encephalitis and myocarditis, despite seeking medical treatment three times. The majority of the severe cases and deaths were found in individuals who had not received the flu vaccine, emphasizing the importance of vaccination and early medical attention to reduce the risk of complications.
