The 50th anniversary of folk songs will be celebrated next year with a 3-day concert titled 'Folk Song Fifty' at Taipei Arena starting on February 14, organized by the Chinese Musicians Exchange Association. Over 50 singers including Yang Xian, Wu Chuchu, Ye Jiaxiu, Li Zongsheng, Qi Yu, Pan Yueyun, Hu Defu, and more will perform over 100 songs. Tickets will go on sale in September. The event commemorates the modern folk song movement kickstarted by Yang Xian in 1975, with an unprecedented lineup of singers across generations scheduled to perform.
