Following the US Federal Reserve's decision to postpone interest rate cuts, foreign banks in Taiwan are aggressively promoting high-interest fixed deposit campaigns to attract deposits. Citibank offers the highest interest rates with up to 5.7% for USD, AUD, and CNY deposits; Standard Chartered Bank offers up to 5.6% for USD deposits; and HSBC offers up to 7% for USD deposits. These promotions aim to capitalize on the current high interest rates for USD deposits due to the delay in rate cuts by the Fed.
