Reported 8 months ago

Carl Zeiss Taiwan general manager Zhang Pingda plans to recruit nearly a hundred more employees next year to expand their presence in Taiwan. Carl Zeiss, a German company that has set up an innovation center in the Hsinchu Science Park for the first time, revealed that the biggest challenge in entering Hsinchu is competing for talent with TSMC, NVIDIA, AMD, and ASML, who have successively announced the establishment of R&D centers in Taiwan. Especially against TSMC, known as a 'black hole for Taiwan's talent,' which poses a significant challenge in recruiting talents externally. Despite this unavoidable issue, Carl Zeiss chose to enter Hsinchu in order to be close to major customer TSMC, and to increase the company's visibility, facilitating the recruitment of talented individuals from different fields. With a history dating back to 1846 and headquartered in Oberkochen, Germany, Carl Zeiss is a leading enterprise in optical and optoelectronic technology, pioneering in the field of optics. Since focusing on the Taiwanese market in 2018, they have introduced vision care and optical consumer products, medical technology, semiconductor solutions, microscopy solutions, and industrial measurement solutions, providing high-quality products, services, and technology to Taiwanese businesses and the public.
