An Indonesian woman, who had been enduring years of abuse from her Taiwanese husband, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for killing him after he threatened to kill her. The woman, after suffering repeated abuse, smashed her husband's head with a stone pestle and fatally stabbed him while he was sleeping. She then voluntarily surrendered to the police and requested bail in order to see her son, who she deeply missed. The court is deliberating on whether to extend her detention.
