Former Air Force Vice Commander Zhang Yanting refuted Taoyuan City Councilor Yu Beichen's statement that Chinese military aircraft only dare to provoke Taiwan during the daytime due to geographical advantages, by revealing that Chinese military aircraft also fly at night but with lower frequency due to environmental considerations. Zhang explained that both sides conduct night flights, limited to about 15 times a month due to the few suitable subjects for night training. Environmental restrictions and noise concerns also contribute to the limited night flights. Zhang emphasized that Chinese military aircraft do fly at night to provoke Taiwan, despite the development of airports and noise regulations in mainland China.
