On June 9th, a man surnamed Ruan from mainland China, who was a former captain in the People's Liberation Army Navy, used a speedboat to sneak into Taiwan and entered the Tamsui River, where he was arrested by the Coast Guard Administration. The Shilin District Prosecutors borrowed Ruan for questioning and subsequently arrested him in court for violating the Immigration Act, with the court approving the detention. Investigations are ongoing to ensure national security, and the case is subject to further appeal.
