Former exclusive translator for Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani, Kiyoshi Mizuhara, admitted to embezzling around $17 million from Ohtani to pay off gambling debts, leading to losing his translation job and then being caught delivering Uber Eats for income after being released on bail. The news just surfaced when Mizuhara faced being suspended from the delivery platform soon after, becoming unemployed once more. Mizuhara, who used to earn a salary of $2 million NT dollars annually as Ohtani's translator, has been dismissed by the Los Angeles Dodgers for suspicion of gambling. He pleaded guilty to bank fraud and tax evasion charges, potentially facing a 33-year sentence, 5 years parole, and a $1.25 million fine. The court is set to make a ruling on October 25th.
