Former general affairs director Chen Zhenhao of Jihsuei Elementary School in New Taipei's Zhonghe District surrendered 200,000 NT dollars following allegations of accepting bribes from Yuexiang Company's owner Chiu Xianghao to assist in winning a school construction bidding project in 2019. Chen was released on bail, whereas Chiu was also granted bail on charges of bribery. Various individuals involved were summoned for questioning, including architect Lu Lijun, who also posted bail, along with contractors Jian Youlun and Lin Zongcheng. The investigation is focused on violations of the Anti-Corruption Act and Government Procurement Act.
