Former Harvard Scholar Charles Lieber Convicted in US for Hiding Participation in China's Thousand Talents Plan, Possibly to be Hired by University of Hong Kong

Harvard nanoscientist Charles Lieber, who joined China's Thousand Talents Program, was convicted in the US in 2021 for concealing this, sentenced to two years of supervised release. It's reported that Lieber is scheduled to speak at the University of Hong Kong in July and might be hired by the university. In 2020, Lieber was arrested after hiding his involvement in the program. His application to travel to China for discussions related to a teaching opportunity in Hong Kong University and giving scientific lectures was recently approved by a judge.
