Lin Mingzuo, a former second-class police inspector who once served as the head of the Taichung City Criminal Investigation Bureau, is suspected of being an informant for a gambling group and has been detained after his initial two-month detention period expired, with a request for extension granted by prosecutors. Lin's detention has been extended until September after being involved in disclosing confidential information for a gambling group. The case has also led to the arrest of other key figures in the organization, including the gambling group's chairman Chen Zhenggu and former TVBS reporter Shi Zhenkang, with a total of seven people currently detained and prohibited from meeting visitors.
