AheadComputing, a new chip startup co-founded by ex-Intel executives, has raised $21.5 million in seed funding to develop technology based on the open-source RISC-V architecture. The company aims to address computing performance challenges in artificial intelligence, leveraging the flexibility of RISC-V technology, which is free from the constraints of Intel's x86 architecture and single-supplier dependencies. The funding round was led by Eclipse Ventures, with participation from notable investors including former Apple and Tesla chip architect Jim Keller.
